Endocrine changes in HIV patients.

The respected authors have estimated only TSH unlike all other previous publications on this subject, cited in reference 3, 10, 11, 12 wherein free T3 and free T4 were measured along with TSH. For the information of clinicians, providing here a list of commonly used drugs which cause high TSH values to be reported which does not reflect hypothyroidism since free T3 and free T4 are normal. Similarly, there are drugs which lead to decrease TSH values which do not represent hyperthyroidism since free T3 and free T4 are normal. (Reference: Surks MJ, Siebert R. DRUGS and Thyroid function.
